3º SHORT TRACK
A gruelling XCC race saw Rebecca take a well-deserved 3rd place, a result that puts her in a good place looking forward to the upcoming second half of the season.
She got herself into the peloton from the very beginning of the race and stayed there until the very end. Despite the relentless pace she held her ground and even made a push for second on the last lap, finally taking a very well-deserved 3rd place across the line. That makes two podiums so far this season for Bec and PRIMAFLOR MONDRAKER after the second place she won in Mairiporá, Brazil, back in April.
The XCO race on Sunday saw a very different Les Gets after the torrential rains of the day before. Conditions were extreme, and despite a strong start at the beginning and throughout the first half of the race, Bec started losing steam in the second half of the race. Even so, she fought through it all to take home 14th place, but more importantly she came away with good vibes going forward to the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, the World Champs in Andorra, and the second half of the season after that.
Ondrej Cink and Marta Cano fought hard to finish as far up the field as possible. The Czech finished in 28th position in the XCC and 27th in the XCO, while the Catalonian took 29th in XCC and 34th in XCO. Both riders will be competing in their respective National Championships this coming weekend.
That’s the first half of the season over and done with. The World Cup will be back on the weekend of the 27-29th September from the USA, but before then we have two other key dates for this season: The Olympic Games from Paris, France, on the 27-28th July, and the World Championships from Vallnord (Andorra) from the 28th August - 1st September.
