BEC MCCONNELL NATIONAL XCO AND SHORT TRACK CHAMPION AND GOOD RESULTS IN CHELVA

Rebeca McConnell regained her Australian National XCO title, becoming the ninth of her career, and also won the Short Track race.

Bec, currently ranked third in the mountain bike world ranking, won her ninth Australian National Champion title this weekend, defeating tough competitors, proving her dominance and her current outstanding physical condition. Bec had to say: "I'm both happy and relieved", as all eyes were naturally on her in her first major race of the season. She also won the Short Track discipline on Sunday. Bec raced in both events on her new Mondraker F-Podium Carbon DC RR.

Therefore, Rebecca fulfilled the predictions and already has two more National Champion's jerseys, which she will be able to display during this season, including World Cup races.

PMG ALSO IN CHELVA

On the other hand, the rest of the riders of the Primaflor Mondraker Genuins XCO Team raced for their season debut in Chelva, Valencia, in a race full of top international riders. The Chelva International Challenge is one of the first UCI.1 level races of the season in Europe, so the presence of important riders allows us to really get a taste of the performance level of the riders. It has been a very positive weekend for the PMG Racing Team riders, with Francesc Barber finishing 7th and Marta Cano 4th on their official team debut in the U23 and Youth categories respectively, and 19th place for Jofre Cullell. Considering that it's the first contact with the races in this 2022, these are remarkable results.

Finally, Jose Márquez won the first race of the Open de Andalucía XCM in Almonte.
