From May 2026, this update will allow the maximum motor torque to be increased from 100 Nm to 120 Nm on any 5th-generation Bosch CX or CX-R motor, as well as increasing the maximum pedal assistance from 400% to up to 600%.

A software optimisation allows the motor to pre-tension the drivetrain and prevents the motor and rear wheel from freewheeling in technical riding situations.

This reduces the free travel on the pedal and also the delay when pedalling, allowing the motor to convert your power directly into precise propulsion. With more direct traction when pedalling, your drive unit reacts immediately and gives you full control – as if the bike were glued to your foot. All that extra power remains usable, precise and easy to control on any terrain.

But the difference isn’t just in the numbers.

We know that power is useless without control. That’s why Bosch maintains the smooth, progressive and perfectly controllable power delivery that has made its motors the benchmark.

In addition, the update incorporates Trick Check within the Bosch eBike Flow app, a feature capable of automatically recognising and measuring jumps, wheelies, manuals or stoppies. The display shows data such as distance, duration, altitude and angle, which are saved in the app to analyse each manoeuvre and continue improving your riding.

Personalization is important, especially when precision is key: Extended Boost is now available and customizable for all riding modes. Set it to be just how you need it. Bosch has also announced that they are going one step further in connectivity: pair the eBike Flow App with your Garmin device and transfer such as speed, range and battery.

The eBike Flow app and all components, such as the drive unit, battery, and display, are fully interconnected. Updates are transferred wirelessly, ensuring your eBike stays up to date after purchase. For instance, you can use the navigation function, enhance theft protection, and customize riding modes and display settings to your preferences, or unlock your eBike with Kiox 300 or Kiox 500.
