After only four races we’ve got our third podium of the season in the bag!!!
Dakotah Norton gifted us a tremendous weekend’s racing from Val de Sole, Italy, taking the hot seat early on in the race and making it very much his until the very last run. In the end he took home a well-deserved second place.
Only the last man down the hill, the Frenchman Amaury Pierron, was capable of knocking him off the top spot with what was honestly a masterclass of downhill racing; but during the best part of an hour Dakotah was the man to beat, having set a blistering time with what was a super smooth run, on a very treacherous track which left many of the best riders in the world the worst for wear. Dakotah’s run was solid, 6 seconds up on the hot seat at the time, and looked confident and under control all the way down.
Dunne, with a consistent run, was looking good for a podium until the last man down had finished his run and knocked him into 6th, and Pinkerton wrapped up the team’s results with a hard-won 26th.
Val di Sole, with Norton’s 2nd place, has left us feeling very optimistic about the next race, from the 4th to the 7th July, from Les Gets. That gives a couple of weeks to fine tune the SUMMUM and give the riders a (short) breather.
