With the Snowshoe World Cup still fresh our minds, the second to last round of the 2022 season is coming up in Mont-Sainte-Anne. A race that will be key for the final season's standings.

The PMG Racing Team and MS Mondraker Team riders will face this weekend the penultimate round of the World Cup in Mont-Sainte-Anne, Canada. The legendary race will once again present some demanding and spectacular circuits that will determine the contenders for the victory ahead of the last round of the season, which will be held in Val di Sole from the 2nd to the 4th of September.

Bec McConnell has a great chance to continue making history. The Australian, only 8 points behind the first placed rider in the overall standings, has in her hand the opportunity to regain the leader's jersey both in XCO and XCC Short Track. Punctures and crashes left her without the possibility of fighting for a good result, that would have allowed her to keep the precious jersey. Let's hope that bad luck doesn't strike Bec again.

On the other hand, the Balearic Francesc Barber will have once again a new challenge in Canada, where he hopes to improve on the 16th position, he obtained last weekend in Snowshoe.

MS MONDRAKER

The MS Mondraker riders will also be hoping to prove their skills on a demanding course which is very special for all of them. Eleonora Farina, Dave Trummer and Brook MacDonald will all be aiming for a good qualifying spot for the final, although Tuhoto-Ariki is the rider who seems to have the best chance of a good performance in Canada. The New Zealander has very good memories of Mont-Sainte-Anne as he won the bronze medal at the 2019 World Junior Championships so he will try once again to have a good race and prove that he is still a clear contender for the future of the competition.

It will also be special for Brook as it was in 2019 where he suffered a serious crash that led to a spinal injury from which he was told he would not recover and would probably not be able to walk again. Thanks to his tenacity and his strong physical condition, in just over a year he returned to racing and now we can once again enjoy watching " The Bulldog" on his bike racing on the circuit that marked his life.
