Brazil has proven to be the charm for Rebecca Henderson. The 2024 WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series opener from Mairiporã saw Bec take second place in the elite women’s XCC. It’s a fantastic result for the start of the season, only beaten by the Brit, Evie Richards. 

This is what Bec had to say about it: “With just two laps left to go I was in sixth position and thinking that things were going pretty well, so I decided to push and overtook four of the other girls, and of course I’m really happy with this second place. Thankfully I’m used to the heat we’re racing in in Brazil but the humidity is something else! It’s nothing like home but you have to adapt and get used to the conditions.”
