Third round of the XC World Cup and second round of DH in Leogang, Austria, and we already have the first podium of the season. Ondrêj Cink gets his first podium in the XCO race. A third place that also means the first in history for the PRIMAFLOR-MONDRAKER-GENUINS in the men's XC World Cup competition.
Was the ideal for Ondrêj and his great climbing skills. After missing the first race at Nové Město due to illness and a 10th place at Lenzerheide, Cink was in the first positions from start to finish, leading the group for quite some time. The rider from the Czech Republic demonstrated his good condition.
On the other hand, Bec Henderson seemed to be in front of the opportunity to get a good result in the XCO race after her great 6th place on Friday in XCC. The Aussie rode around 15th position past the middle of the race, though she finally couldn't keep up with the high pace of the top positions. Bec tried her best as always. Keep pushing Bec! We are sure that the results will come very soon.
Tuhoto Ariki and the young Toby Meek managed to get into the final, only available for the best 30 riders in the semi-final. The tough and mythical Austrian circuit is one of those where any mistake, no matter how small, makes you drop to the last places pretty easily. Tuhoto ended in 22nd position and Toby in 28th.
The next World Cup round will be in Val di Sole, Italy, during the first weekend of July, where the fourth XC round of the season and the third DH round will be held.
