Nor is it an ad singing the praises of Mondraker bikes. We didn’t hand the job over to ChatGPT either. So, what’s it all about?
This is something written with pride, and sculpted in bronze. A text that sums up how all 250 of us at Mondraker felt when Mona and Rónán stepped onto the World Championship podium this weekend. We might not be in the photo, but we’re right there next to them, helping them pop the corks on the champagne.
It’d be sweet if you never lost, if you always took the gold, if you always climbed onto the top step of the podium; but no one gets to do that every year, year after year. Mona, who already holds three rainbow jerseys as a Marathon World Champion, climbed onto the third step of the podium this time, on Saturday, September 6th, at the Worlds in Valais, Switzerland. After a gruelling 125km of racing between Verbier and Grimentz, she earned her well-deserved podium finish on the spectacular F-Podium Unity, custom-built by our Blue Lab department for the entire MFR XC team. Mona’s story with the XCM World Championships is one that is still being written year after year, and it’s going to be a page-turner for sure.
Just over a second. The blink of an eye, yet in DH it can feel like an eternity. One root, one loose rock, a tiny drift away from the racing line and boom! Just one little slip can mean the difference between the podium or the pits at a World Championship, just as countless small details add up to the win. “Shit happens” as our American friends like to say! A gold medal for MFR DH rider Rónán Dunne just a week ago in Les Gets, and a Bronze this time out in Champéry on his fully custom Summum prototype. Great results both in a sport that takes no prisoners.
Together with the 9th and 11th places of Norton and Pinkerton, the team is more fired up about the rest of the season than ever before as we head into the final three rounds of the 2025 DH World Cup.
And beyond that, there are still three more World Cup stops lined up in Lenzerheide, Lake Placid and Mont-Sainte-Anne.
As we said from the start, this is a text written with pride, and sculpted in bronze. Pride in seeing every rider of the MFR teams wear their national colours right next to Mondraker’s. Pride at their tenacity and spirit. Pride that they’re always striving to give it their all for the colours we represent.
