20 YEARS OF BLOOD, SWEAT AND GLORY

THE 2023 DOWNHILL WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS ARE HERE AND MARKUS STÖCKL HAS A VERY SPECIAL BIKE TO COMMEMORATE THE EVENT.

The 2023 DH World Championships are here and the MS MONDRAKER TEAM wanted to get in the mood with a little celebration.  It’s been two decades since Markus Stöckl first took charge of the international DH team and everyone here at Mondraker wanted his anniversary to be a bit special, so we created a SUMMUM UNLIMITED commemorative edition just for him to represent the last 20 years of blood, sweat and glory

MS MONDRAKER TEAM

Back in 2003, Markus Stöckl kickstarted an international DH project: the MS RACING TEAM. Not long afterwards the name was changed to the MS MONDRAKER TEAM and it’s stayed that way ever since. Racing under the MS MONDRAKER banner, Markus and Mondraker have earned themselves some not inconsiderable results: a veritable truckload of World Cup podiums, several National Championships and above all the 1-2-3 World Champs podium in Val di Sole in 2016.

164.95 km/h

The Austrian has always been associated with downhill racing, but away from the international downhill season he’s probably best known for being one of the fastest men on the planet on a mountain bike. Markus took the world speed record for an unassisted descent on a production mountain bike at 164.95 km/h on the dust and stones of the Cerro Negro volcano in Nicaragua. As if that weren’t enough, Markus also broke the world speed record on snow.

SUMMUM UNLIMITED
SUMMUM UNLIMITED

To commemorate 20 years at the helm of the MS team and to show our recognition of just how important his contribution to its success has been, this week, in the run-up to the 2023 World Championship at Fort William we presented him with a totally customized SUMMUM UNLIMITED.

FORT WILLIAM WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

LET’S MAKE THE PODIUM THE PLACE TO FINISH THE WEEKEND

This weekend is a red-letter day for anyone who loves DH. The DH World Champs, which are being held in Fort William, Scotland this year, sees four MS Mondraker riders representing their countries.

Tuhoto-Ariki

Tuhoto-Ariki is one of three Mondraker riders representing New Zealand. Tuhoto will get to Fort William less than a week after being crowned THE KING OF CRANKWORX at Whistler. 4 podiums in 4 different events won him his crown, and there’s no doubt that that result will have boosted his confidence going into the Fort William event.

Brook MacDonald

Brook MacDonald will be representing New Zealand once again. The Bulldog is a crowd favourite and with some strong results in the World Cup over the years he’ll definitely be one to watch this year.  Everyone here at Mondraker wishes him a strong classification and a good chance at a podium.

Toby Meek

Toby Meek rounds out the hat-trick for New Zealand. One of the new generation of DH riders, his incredible talent and hard work belies his youth. Unable to compete in some of the World Cup finals this season due to injury, Toby will be full-on at Fort William hunting that first World Champs medal.

Eleonora Farina

Eleonora Farina will be representing Italy in the womens’ event. After several months out of contention due to a broken collar bone, Eleonora will be a woman on a mission at the World Champs. She’s a serious podium proposition as history has proven and we can’t wait to see her taking on the best the Nevis Range has to offer.
