The evolution of mountain bike disciplines is in constant flux and Enduro is by no means an exception. At Mondraker we’ve taken our most iconic model and evolved it to be more ‘Enduro’ than ever before.

Foxy is and always has been “THE BIKE” par excellence at Mondraker. Originally released in 2004, it never stopped evolving and the 2015 release of the Foxy Carbon pumped the model all the way up to eleven. Since then, and taking into account the improvements made over the last few seasons, it’s been one of the most popular and most successful models in the world. Its unreal pedaling efficiency and generous suspension travel make the Foxy our most complete model. In this, the 2022 season we’ve re-evolved our Foxy Carbon to keep it up there as the undisputed leader: "THE BIKE" and an international benchmark to be reckoned by.

HI-TECH

As a matter of course the Foxy Carbon frame is manufactured using our cutting-edge STEALTH AIR FULL CARBON technology. This allows us to make a frame with a unique silhouette and gorgeous lines. What’s more, during manufacture the different layers of the carbon fibers are applied manually, allowing us to concentrate them exactly where we want, thus maximizing both rigidity and lightness. Lightness is and has always been one of our priorities, but with this bike we decided to prioritize stiffness which has lead us to concentrate on the area around the bottom bracket and the lower suspension link. The chainstays have also been modified and reinforced compared to previous generations. That said it’s still one of the lightest enduro bikes on the market.


These frames use our patented ZERO SUSPENSION SYSTEM which is comprised of two links which have been completely redesigned compared to previous models. In fact the time and effort dedicated to the rear suspension system for this model has been significant, culminating in completely reworked kinematics. We’ve also fitted a longer stroke shock which in turn offers a plusher ride compared to previous models. An added value is that we’ve worked hand in glove with our shock partners throughout the development process to perfect the shock tune straight from the factory. In short, the Foxy is now plusher and more enduro than ever before whilst still being very effective on the climbs.


Something else to bear in mind is that the Foxy Carbon comes with our MIND telemetry technology fitted as standard. In short, MIND helps you to set up your suspension perfectly. Combined with the myMondraker app you’ll nail your suspension settings from the very start, setting up your bike exactly to suit your weight and riding style. By following a few simple steps and making some easy adjustments you’ll be on your way to being a better rider, something that’s been a priority for us for a long time now. What’s more, after each and every ride you’ll be able to consult data such as the distance you’ve ridden, the jumps you’ve launched and just how far you jumped, as well as just how much suspension travel you were using at any time during the ride… and more.

ADJUSTABLE GEOMETRY

One of the features which makes this model stand out from its Foxy Carbon predecessors is the ability to change the geometry between two settings: “standard” or “low”. By varying the position of the rearmost screw on the lower shock link, you can slacken the steering angle from 65º to 64.5º (64.5º to 64º on the XR model), the seat tube angle from 76º to 75.7º and the bottom bracket height from -30mm to -25mm (slightly lower than on the previous model). Perhaps the most significant and noticeable change is the increase in chainstay length, from 435mm in the standard position to 445mm in the “low” position. The “low” setting thus increases grip, mid-corner and overall stability and poise at high speed as well as offering better weight distribution, performance and more active suspension behavior on the descents. Subtle geometric modifications of 0.5º to the head angle or 10mm to the chainstay length which add up our new Foxy Carbon performing better whatever your style and preferences are as a rider.

Thanks to our more than 21 years of experience manufacturing mountain bikes and to our precision in manufacture and development, we can say that the new Foxy Carbon will continue to be a reference point in Mondraker’s catalog while standing out as our alpha enduro bike on its own merits. Innovative, more capable, more efficient suspension action, lighter and more versatile thanks to its improved and adjustable geometry. In short, the new Foxy Carbon is the best iteration of the model yet.

THE FOXY CARBON RANGE

The new Foxy Carbon range is comprised of 3 different models sharing the same frame but with different component specs as follows:

The Foxy XR is the most radical of the three with 170mm of travel at the front and 150mm at the rear. It comes fitted with the prestigious Öhlins suspension (RFX 36 fork and TTX Air shock absorber), the drivetrain is provided by SRAM with an X01 Eagle derailleur, DT Swiss EXC1501 Carbon Spline 29 wheels; SRAM G2 RSC brakes and ONOFF components including the Krypton Carbon 1.0 handlebar.

The Foxy RR has 160mm of travel at the front and 150mm at the rear, with a Öhlins fork and shock, an SRAM drivetrain with GX Eagle derailleur; DT Swiss EX1700 Spline 29 wheels; SRAM G2 R brakes and ONOFF components. 

The Foxy R also comes fitted with Fox suspension with 160mm at the front and 150mm at the rear, SRAM’s NX Eagle drivetrain, DT Swiss E1900 Spline 29 wheels, SRAM G2 R brakes and ONOFF components including the Pija dropper seatpost. 

All three models offer the option of adjustable geometry, thus allowing their riders to customize their bikes to their liking. Available in 4 different sizes: S, M, L and XL.

TECHNOLOGY

ADJUSTABLE GEOMETRY
Depending on where you position the lower link mounting bolt you can choose between STANDARD or LOW geometry settings, thus modifying the geometry according to your preferences. In this way you can vary the steering angle (from 65º in standard to 64.5º in low), the seat tube angle (from 76º to 75.7º), the length of the chainstays (from 435mm to 445mm) and the reach (from 470mm to 465mm). The advantage of being able to adjust the geometry allows you to have a bike which can be better adapted to your tastes and needs.
HHG (HIDDEN HOUSING GUIDE)
HHG technology refers to the internal routing for the shift cable, rear brake hose and telescopic seat post cable. HHG has external stops to hold the cables in place thus avoiding annoying rattling noises and which keep the design as clean as possible.
INTEGRATED REAR SHOCK MUD GUARD
The new design of the full carbon swingarm of the Foxy Carbon allows for the use of a protective mudguard to shield the rear shock absorber from trail debris, with the added benefit of keeping the shock clean in muddy or dusty conditions thus ensuring optimum performance of the shock and an increase in the service life of all moving parts of the ZERO system.
CUSTOMIZED DOWNTUBE AND DRIVE SIDE CHAINSTAY PROTECTORS
To prevent rocks or trail debris from damaging the downtube we’ve designed and fitted a carbon fibre downtube protector. In turn the right hand chainstay has had a high-density rubber protector fitted to prevent damage from chain slap. Together these protectors help to keep the frame looking as fresh as the day you bought it and thus increase the useful lifespan of your Mondraker mountain bike.
