MERCEDES- BENZ UCI MTB WORLD CUP KICKS OFF TOMORROW AT NOVÉ MĚSTO

It is the moment the MTB community has been gearing up for...the 2020 Mercedes-Benz UCI Mountain Bike World Cup finally starts tomorrow.

The only World Cup stop on the calendar for this unprecedented year will be held in Nové Město, Czech Republic. A favourite amongst pro riders, the Nové Město track features both lung-busting, short, sharp climbs and then quick, technical descents that require plenty of power and smart tactics from each competitor.

Spectators are in store for some thrilling XC racing as riders will be competing in both XCC (short track) and XCO races across just six days. The battles for World Cup Number 1 spot will be held on Tuesday and Thursday and then for Number 2 on Friday and Sunday. With UCI world ranking points to play for in the races, the heats will also decide which riders are on the first line of the starting grid in the Olympic discipline.

Aussie’s Bec McConnell and Dan McConnell, Belgian Githa Michiels and the Russian Anton Sintsov will be competing in the World Cup for Primaflor-Mondraker-XSauce (PMX) team. Given Bec McConnell’s top three finish at the 2019 World Champs in Mont-Sainte-Anne, fans are eagerly anticipating her next move, and whether she will be stepping onto the Podium once again in 2020.
