2021 WORLD CUP FINAL WITH A PODIUM FINISH

THE 2021 WORLD CUP IS NOW HISTORY. THIS PAST WEEK THE SEASON FINISHED AT SNOWSHOE, USA, WITH THE LAST XC RACE AND TWO DH EVENTS.

A very complete week as far as the World Cup is concerned, which has already finished until next season. West Virginia, USA, was where this 2021 season wrapped up, more specifically in Snowshoe.
PMX RACING

The XCC race happened on Friday and Bec finished in a really good seventh position, which allowed her to start at the front of the field in the XCO race on Sunday. And it was in this race where she had an excellent performance until she suffered a puncture when she was in first position. She was more than 15 seconds ahead of the second rider, Evie Richards, and was increasing the gap, until she suffered the mishap.  Despite this, and thanks to a quick wheel change, she managed to rejoin in second position, and would remain so until the end. A pity because before the flat tire, it looked like it could be the day of her first World Cup victory, but... that's racing. Nevertheless, Bec completed an excellent race and finished in 2nd position for the second time in her career. Spectacular World Cup finish for Bec McConnell. The Australian, who has maintained a very consistent performance level throughout the season, has achieved her best results in the last two races at Lenzerheide and Snowshoe.

With this excellent end of season for Bec, who has achieved 6 podiums with two second places, she finishes the season in 4th position in the overall standings of the World Cup. On the other hand, Jofre Cullell and Dan McConnell finished 39th and 52nd respectively in the overall standings.

MS MONDRAKER

The MS Mondraker raced in a double header at Snowshoe. The first one on Wednesday and the second and last one of the season on Saturday. Eleonora Farina, Laurie Greenland and Brook MacDonald took part in both races.

On Wednesday, on a faster and rather technical course, Eleonora fought until the last moment with all she could and was just short of reaching the podium, finishing in sixth position. Laurie was 15th, while Brook, who fell in the qualis, finished 33rd.

In the second round at Snowshoe being the final round of the 2021 World Cup, with some track variations from Wednesday's, things didn't change too much. Eleonora finished 8th, Laurie improved on Wednesday's result by one place to 14th, while Brook dropped back to 60th.

With these results, Eleonora finished 6th overall, Laurie 7th, Brook 27th, while Thibault Laly finished 55th albeit he didn’t race in these last two US races.

It's clear that you can always wait for best results, but from Mondraker we are happy with how the 2021 World Cup went and we are already looking forward to the next one in 2022. Both in cross country with the PMX Racing Team and in DH with the MS Mondraker Team we have achieved several podiums and have been regularly in the top positions.
