We are excited to welcome one of the most important events of the year, the 2022 World Championships. This weekend, the best riders in the world will fight to wear the rainbow jersey for the entire 2022-2023 season in their corresponding categories.

Every rider, no matter what discipline, dreams of wearing the rainbow jersey of World Champion. Few are the chosen ones who are among the selected riders from their respective countries who are allowed to take part in the race. That is why many of them prepare all season long for this one race. And only one of them can become the champion. Les Gets will be the host of this year's race, where the champions will be crowned. The 2022 World Cup is already underway.

Both the PMG Racing Team and MS Mondraker Team will have their entire rider line-up competing at the highest level in this small French town. There will be four riders in XC and five in DH. All of them are ready to battle for the top spot on the podium.

PMG RACING TEAM

Bec McConnell, Jofre Cullell, Francesc Barber and Marta Cano will be representing the Mondraker XC team. After an excellent season and with the odds remaining strong to win the World Cup, McConnell will try to improve on her two consecutive bronze medals achieved at the World Championships in Mont-Sainte-Anne in 2019 and Leogang in 2020 by winning the gold medal. The spectacular start of the season with 3 consecutive victories in Petrópolis, Albstadt and Nové Mesto are enough arguments to think that she is a firm candidate.

Furthermore, Jofre Cullell has shown in his latest performances that he can be at the front of the field. With great quality displays, the young Catalan hopes to put in a good performance that will allow him to consolidate his position as a rider to be taken into account in the upcoming years. On the other hand, both Francesc Barber and Marta Cano, also hope to achieve a good result in their respective races. Francesc has shown throughout the year in the World Cup U23 category that his quality is beyond any doubt and it would be no surprise, if he plays his cards right, he could make it to the podium. The same goes for junior Marta Cano, who this past weekend finished on the third step of the podium in a hard-fought race in the UCI Junior Series.

MS MONDRAKER

Eleonora Farina, Dave Trummer, Tuhoto-Ariki, Brook MacDonald and Jacob Dickson are the 5 riders representing the MS Mondraker team in the DH race. Ele, on behalf of Italy, will be looking for a top result as she has been doing during the season with 4 podiums in the World Cup. Watch out for the Italian...

The rest of the riders, Dave representing Austria, Tuhoto-Ariki and Brook both representing New Zealand, and Dickson representing Ireland, will try to pull off a good performance that will allow them, hopefully, to get on the podium. All of them are in good shape after a well-deserved but short break, except for Jacob Dickson, who after missing the last World Cup races due to injury, will be back again and will try to score again a good finish as he has been known to do.

To follow the World Championship races, keep an eye on Red Bull TV (depending on the country) Eurosport and GCN. They will broadcast all the races of this 2022 World Championship through their respective apps.
