BEC MCCONNELL, LOOKING FOR A SECOND VICTORY

This weekend will hold the second round of the World Cup in Albstadt, Germany. Bec McConnell, who won the first race in Brazil, wants to repeat the feat.

A new World Cup race will take place on the 6th, 7th and 8th of May. This time, in Europe. Albstadt, which was previous season's opening World Cup, will be the second stop in 2022. The first race was in Brazil, where Mondraker achieved the first victory in its history in an XCO World Cup with Bec McConnell and the PMG Racing Team.

BEC LEADS THE WORLD CUP

After the first race of the 2022 World Cup in Petropolis, on a very technical circuit with a lot of jumps, Bec McConnell is the current championship leader. After her first win in which she proved she’s in great shape, Bec wants to keep up the good momentum in Germany, on a course that, although she didn't do as well as she wanted in the 2021 World Cup opener, the current leadership will give her wings. We hope that the Australian rider, who has always shown great consistency, will continue her streak.

On the other hand, both Jofre Cullell and Francesc Barber hope to get a good result in Albstadt. The Catalan rider, who finished 28th in Brazil, has followed his training plan to be in good shape before the second round of the World Cup calendar. This was confirmed by achieving the victory in the fourth round of the International Catalan Cup MTB in Santa Susana, a race in which Bec McConnell also raced and won with absolute dominance.

Moreover, Francesc Barber will take part for the second time in a Junior World Cup after making his debut in Brazil. The Balearic rider finally crossed the finish line in the 21st position, a more than remarkable result given the high-performance level from this category and even more being his first participation.
