First UCI Junior Series for Barber!

THE MOST REMARKABLE RESULT OF THE RACE WEEKEND HAS BEEN FOR FRANCESC BARBER FROM PMX RACING TEAM, PROVING HE’S ON AN INCREDIBLE PREFORMANCE LEVEL AT ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT RACES OF THE SEASON.

This weekend both PMX Racing and MS Racing Team had several races in which the results were mixed. Either way, it has helped the riders get into the best possible shape for the Les Gets event on the first weekend of July.

PMX Racing Team

Francesc Barber was the only rider to start the Swiss Bike Cup in Gränichen. Bec and Dan McConnell decided not to take part in the race and they opted for a better recovery after last weekend's effort in Leogang. Francesc was in the leading group from the beginning of the race and it was on the last lap when he pushed to consolidate the lead and claim the victory. The Spaniard finally won his first race in the Junior UCI Series after a second place in Banyoles and fourth in the Albstadt World Cup.

On the other hand, both Sara Méndez and José "Quillo" Márquez won the Copa Catalana Internacional and the Open de España XCM respectively.

MS Mondraker Team

The MS Mondraker riders also competed in one of the races on the calendar, the Innsbruck Crankworx. The best international riders also took part taking advantage of the two weeks between the World Cup races in Leogang and Les Gets.

On a race that wasn't at all favourable for the riders due to a few pedalling sections and a mildly steep hill-climb, Laurie Greenland finished 15th, being the best position for the team. Brook MacDonald was 17th, Thibault Laly 26th and Japanese rider Yuki Kushima 60th. In the women's race, Eleonora Farina finished 6th while Mondraker ambassador Jonna Johnsen was 24th.
