A winning weekend for the PMX Racing Team

This weekend PMX Racing racers were invited to two different races: Super Prestigio Faster MTB of Arnedo, in La Rioja; and VI Marathon BTT Monclova Desert Gran Premio Vialider.
After the first races with great results, the appointment in Arnedo was a good opportunity to see how the progression continues for Jofre Cullell, Francesc Barber and Sara Méndez. The large number of top international riders was important, so it would be a good reference to see if the improvement in training continues to be as good as it has been so far. And they achieved good results again, so they are still satisfactorily.

In a technically and physically very demanding circuit of this first round of the Super Prestigio Faster, Jofre was fighting with the Italian Simone Avondetto for the first place in Under-23 category. At the end, he was second, half a minute behind Avondetto, finishing in ninth position scratch.

The Rioja town was also a good place to see the progression of Francesc and Sara, who turned 18 on the same day of the race. Both Barber and Méndez, had no problems to climb to the top of the podium in their respective categories, Junior Men and Junior Women, and thus demonstrate that their level is perfect at this stage of the season. Both are growing as top level riders, so it was interesting to see what they had to say after the race.

Sara Méndez: "The truth is that it was a pretty tough race. I struggled to find the right feeling at the start and I couldn't find the pace I was looking for. That's why it wasn't easy to get away. But of course I'm happy to have won and even more so on my birthday".

Francesc Barber: "Today was a tough day. It was hard to get into a rhythm at the beginning of the race, I was suffering with the group in front and at the end on the last lap I tried to push, enter first in the long descent and I took a small gap, with which in the end I managed to get the lead".

On the other hand, "el Quillo" Márquez was the representative of the PMX Racing Team in the marathon race in Monclova. The rider from Malaga participated in his second race of the season, VI Marathon Monclava Desert Gran Premio Vialider, scoring for the XCM Series Sevilla 2021. Unfortunately, a mistake at the start of the race prevented him from fighting for the victory, finishing seventh scratch, second in the Elite category.
