After two races in which Bec McConnell was not able to display the excellent condition she proved to have at the beginning of the season, Vallnord served to confirm that the Australian is back in very good shape. It was already part of the season planning. This was clear on Friday, in the XCC Short Track race, where she was fighting for the victory until the end, crossing the finish line in third position. 

On Sunday she also showcased her outstanding performance, riding in the front positions until she suffered a puncture that prevented her from fighting for the victory. Bad luck struck again with a second puncture that relegated her to thirty-ninth place. Bec gave her all until the last moment and finished in 21st position, which not only allowed her to regain the leader's jersey in the discipline but also added a lead of 112 to the second classified, Anne Terpstra from the Netherlands.

"Bec was happy despite the bad luck of suffering two punctures: "It was a very, very hard day in Vallnord. I've been waiting for this good feeling on the bike to come back and I've finally found it again here. For a short period, I even led the race, showing that I was at my best. However, those two punctures were not part of the plan, but that's racing. I think I can take a lot of positives from this race, but now it's all fresh and I have mixed feelings. I want to thank everyone for their support. They have helped me a lot to complete the race in the best possible way".

Saturday's DH final was an unknown for everyone. The demanding circuit, which had the start at an altitude of more than 2,300 metres, was completely new compared to previous races. This meant that the final results in the men's and women's categories were not what one might have expected. And it was no different for the MS Mondraker.

After being a regular on the podium in recent races, Eleonora Farina was unlucky this time by just over a second. Ele, who is having a remarkable season, finished sixth in the tough Andorran race and although she was not too happy, the friendly Italian is still scoring points for the overall standings in which she is in fourth position.

In the men's category, the young Irishman, Jacob Dickson, was the best performer with a respectable 35th place. The rest of the MS Mondraker riders were unlucky in the final. After a good qualifying and showing a spectacular consistency, Dave Trummer made some mistakes that relegated him to the 40th position, with a very similar time to Brook MacDonald who entered the finish line in 44th.

However, Tuhoto-Ariki, who wanted to continue the good momentum after the good result in Lenzerheide, suffered mechanical problems that made him cross the finish line in 53rd position.
