The next World Cup event will be in Leogang from June 11th to 12th, where we hope to see another strong performance from Eleonora Farina and from the rest of the MS Mondraker Team riders.
In a weekend marked by rain, Eleonora Farina was the silver lining for the MS Mondraker Team. The Italian rider proved that, without a fall or injury, as it happened in Lourdes, she is a serious contender for the podium. Let's hope that she continues with the good momentum and that the rest of the team can overcome the bad luck for the upcoming world cups.
After Saturday's qualifying run, Farina proved once again with her fifth place that she would be one of the riders who would fight for the victory. On a completely wet track after the constant rain of the last few days and Saturday itself, Ele improved her qualifying time in the finals and set a time that allowed her to climb to the fourth step of the podium.
With this good result, the Italian MS Mondraker rider currently sits 6th in the overall standings of the 2022 World Cup after the two rounds held so far in Lourdes and Fort William.
After weeks of working hard to get good results in Fort William, bad luck struck the MS Mondraker Team. On Saturday and under the rain, both Tuhoto Ariki and Brook MacDonald failed to qualify for Sunday's final after both suffered a punctured rear tyre. Fort William is the longest course on the World Cup calendar, and any mechanical problem or, for that matter, a puncture, almost certainly puts you out of the final. And sadly, that was the case for both New Zealand MS Mondraker riders.
On the other hand, Dave Trummer and Jacob Dickson did qualify and had a chance to fight for a good position. Dave finished in 20th place, repeating his Saturday qualifying result despite improving his personal best time.
As for the young Irish rider, he continued his excellent progress by finishing in 36th place in the final. Considering the riders' level and the demanding Fort William course, we can certainly consider it a good result for Dickson.
